Cryptocurrency pop-answer: Leveraged Loop vs. Infinite Well

The $FTM-difference between a leveraged loop and the infinite well is simply astounding, with the well returning 10x to 100x more.

Also, the well seems to be slash-proof, and the leveraged approach a slash is its Achilles Heel.

Huh.

Upshot

So, what am I going to do?

You may find it surprising, seeing how quickly I act on things, but I'm going to play it cool here. I'm going to transition half the $FTM on @GranaryFinance into an Infinite $FTM Well, and see how both stack up against each other.

Cryptocurrency pop-quiz: Infinite $FTM Well

#cryptocurrency pop quiz: the Infinite $FTM Well™️

Question: you see how much $FTM I make on a leveraged 13k $FTM-as-$sFTMX-on-@GranaryFinance.

How much $FTM would I make from the same amount in an Infinite $FTM Well?

Which one is better? Why? By how much $FTM/day?

Measure

Measure.
Measure.
Measure.

How can you know how you're doing?

Measure!

Do you sense a theme from my tweets?

'Hint': it's ... measure.

I've been in @FantomFDN for a while. How am I doing?

That's the wrong question. Why? It's vague. Let's ask better questions so we can get to answers that are useful.

How is $sFTMX doing?

That's actually a pretty tough question to answer.

Why?

Because how do you measure that?

For context, staked @FantomFDN $FTM is one of the tokens that have a realized NEGATIVE return, according to @StakingRewards.

BUT! @staderlabs reports that $sFTMX has an APR of 4.7%.

Which figure is correct? How can we know?

... hint?

The first piece of evidence (that $sFTMX is working) is the daily Granary Finance report

What we see is a realized gain of $FTM from the $sFTMX over time, to the tune of 15%-...ish APR (3.38x leveraged).

Another data-point, contrasting to the leveraged-approach, is @UniDexFinance's $FTM pool, where you supply liquidity for them to use to back their perpetuals.

How's it doing?

In a word: smashingly well.

93.6% ROI 💥🎉💥
... but only 10% APY?

Hm.

But that's not even half the story!

To protect against a possible $sFTMX-depeg, I've hedged the collateral with the @beethoven_x Locked, Staked, and Two Smoking Fantoms LP.

That's an additional $3.2k liquidity necessary for those 85 $FTM.

3x invested but not only 1.5x yielded?

Am I saying @GranaryFinance $sFTMX looped investment is bad?

Nah, fam. I'm not saying that at all.

I am saying my investments on @FantomFDN need redistribution to reflect the yields.

That's what I'm saying.

FANTOM (of the) OPERA (blockchain)

I'm entering the Fantom Opera blockchain, specifically @UniDexFinance, starting smol with 500 $FTM and 200 $DAI.e.

How did I get the $FTM? @Bybit_Official, which allowed me to bridge $USDC from Avalanche to it, swap to $FTM, then bridge to Fantom.

NOICE!

What @Bybit_Official DOESN't bridge is $USDC to Fantom Opera, but I can use Fantom's @BungeeExchange to bridge $DAI.e from Avalanche to Fantom directly.

Now that I have liquidity on Fantom Opera, I SWAP 100 $DAI.e for $USTC on @UniDexFinance,

then deposit

* $FTM (64% APY)
* $USDC (35% APY)
* DAI.e (??? APY)

into their savings pools.

I am also acquiring $UNIDX by swapping $FTM on @UniDexFinance.

One just HODL's these tokans and is airdropped transaction fees.

We'll see how this works in practice.
