Valuation, Optimism: 2023-04-13

My $UNIDX LP on @VelodromeFi is doing just fine.

I collect the rewarded yields there,

then swap to $DAI on @VelodromeFi

(not @UniDexFinance, the gas fees are ridiculous)

That UNIDX-DAI LP? I invested $235.00 into that.

It's now worth $277.00. WOOT! 🎉

I swap 7 $DAI to $UNIDX on @VelodromeFi then add liquidity to the volatile UNIDX-DAI LP at 106% APY.

The remaining $DAI I deposit into the @optimismFND  @UniDexFinance $DAI-pool, which is also doing well at 40% APY.

Valuation, Optimism by Protocol: 2023-04-13

Invested: $1,244.42
value: $1,366.36
ROI: 9.80%

Measure

Measure.
Measure.
Measure.

How can you know how you're doing?

Measure!

Do you sense a theme from my tweets?

'Hint': it's ... measure.

I've been in @FantomFDN for a while. How am I doing?

That's the wrong question. Why? It's vague. Let's ask better questions so we can get to answers that are useful.

How is $sFTMX doing?

That's actually a pretty tough question to answer.

Why?

Because how do you measure that?

For context, staked @FantomFDN $FTM is one of the tokens that have a realized NEGATIVE return, according to @StakingRewards.

BUT! @staderlabs reports that $sFTMX has an APR of 4.7%.

Which figure is correct? How can we know?

... hint?

The first piece of evidence (that $sFTMX is working) is the daily Granary Finance report

What we see is a realized gain of $FTM from the $sFTMX over time, to the tune of 15%-...ish APR (3.38x leveraged).

Another data-point, contrasting to the leveraged-approach, is @UniDexFinance's $FTM pool, where you supply liquidity for them to use to back their perpetuals.

How's it doing?

In a word: smashingly well.

93.6% ROI 💥🎉💥
... but only 10% APY?

Hm.

But that's not even half the story!

To protect against a possible $sFTMX-depeg, I've hedged the collateral with the @beethoven_x Locked, Staked, and Two Smoking Fantoms LP.

That's an additional $3.2k liquidity necessary for those 85 $FTM.

3x invested but not only 1.5x yielded?

Am I saying @GranaryFinance $sFTMX looped investment is bad?

Nah, fam. I'm not saying that at all.

I am saying my investments on @FantomFDN need redistribution to reflect the yields.

That's what I'm saying.

Daily Fantom Blockchain position report, 2023-03-13

Let's visit @FantomFDN. Some interesting things happening there.

For one, @GranaryFinance is no longer heavily rewarding $fUSDT deposits (down to 2% APR from 100%+ APR)

As for @GeistFinance, they ARE rewarding $fUSDT deposits (28% APR), and have scaled back on the high borrow rate for $CRV. Now, however, $MIM-borrow rate is much higher, at 26%.

Also, I got some more $GEIST, that, when vested or locked, generates yields in native tokens. NOICE!

Let's go back to @GranaryFinance on @FantomFDN, because there are things to do here.

  1. $OATH price has shot up, so I collect the yields.
  2. Also, the 'daily' report.

So, first: collect the yields.

With the $OATH-yields I have enough (after I swap the $SD to $USDC) to provide liquidity to the Oath Candelabra LP on @beethoven_x.

So I do just that.

45% AP-whatever looks nice, and $OATH, itself, is finding value in the marketplace.

Next, @EqualizerFlash. I collect $EQUAL yields, but not using the 'claim all'-button, as that requires a separate transaction for each LP.

Apparently they never heard of a 1-transaction claim, as other protocols have.

Then I swap the $EQUAL to $FTM,

...which I will disburse later.

Next, the rocket-ship known as @UniDexFinance. There's a lot going on here, so let's take it a step at a time.

First, the APR-calculations.

  • FTM-pool: 62% APR
  • USDC-pool: 13% APR

Both amazing in the face of the fallen token-prices.

I collect the yields from each pool (both $FTM- and $USDC-) then roll half the yields back into these pools.

The other 50% of the $FTM-yields I invest into the volatile @EqualizerFlash UNIDX-wFTM pool.

You know the drill: swap $FTM to $UNIDX on @EqualizerFlash, wrap $FTM, same, the provide liquidity and stake the LP.

The LP's APR is 40%, which is nize. 😎

The other 50% of the $USDC I swap to $ETH on @beethoven_x

...then bridge to @optimismFND using the @CelerNetwork bridge.

Okay, back to @FantomFDN.

Let's have some

FUN

with some

$FTM

because

you can't spell

$FTM

without the 'F' in 'FUN'!

amirite? amirite???

I withdraw some $wFTM from Locked, Staked, and Two Smoking Phantoms LP on @beethoven_x, and swap to $FTM and $USDC.

I open a 2x long $FTM position and a 2x short $FTM position on @UniDexFinance.

I don't see how to adjust these positions? So, either I'm stuck with them or I'll see some magic, somewhere on how to adjust these perpetuals in time.

These are my new positions around $FTM on @UniDexFinance

Daily Fantom Blockchain position report, 2023-02-23

Let's go to @FantomFDN.

Why? Wasn't I on @FantomFDN yesterday? Yes.

Let's go to @FantomFDN.

The reason for the return to @FantomFDN, besides it being so durn cute and all, is that @miketho15343550 pointed out a UNIDX-wFTM LP on @EqualizerFlash.

I have ~58 $UNIDX, which equates to 764 $wFTM.

Where do I get 764 $wFTM?

Let's go to @avalancheavax and take a self-loan.

Avalanche

So, I go to @avalancheavax and borrow 100 $AVAX on @BenqiFinance. 100 $AVAX is more than 764 $wFTM, but I have a plan:

  • $100 (5 $AVAX) to COSMOS for the 100 $USDC on @demexchange
  • $1000 (51 $AVAX) as $ETH to @arbitrum to buy $GLP.
  • the rest to @FantomFDN.

Let's do it.

ByBit

First things first: I transfer 43 $AVAX to @Bybit_Official to eventuate on @FantomFDN as $FTM.

The transfer takes a wee bit, so I do this FRIST! AHA! 😎

Huh. The transfer occurred pretty quickly.

I head OFT! to the Bybit order books, swapping $AVAX for $USDT.

The way limit orders are now fulfilled are pretty exciting! I placed a sell limit-order (1 of them),

...but ByBit actually fulfilled it with four trades, pretty quickly, too!

Then I swap that $USDT for $FTM.

One thing I noticed: these multiple trade-transactions now have not insignificant trading fees.

0.8471538598 $USDT?
1.71769 $FTM?

Excuse me?

These aren't @ethereum fees, but they're also not @FantomFDN nor @avalancheavax fees.

What gives?!?

I transfer the $FTM on @Bybit_Official to @FantomFDN,

...and we're in business!

Fantom

What does 'in business' mean on @FantomFDN? Me, I pass all liquidity first through @GeistFinance then through @GranaryFinance.

"That's a lot of work!" you observe.

Yes, it is, but why do I do this? To leverage the liquidity, ... twice.

I do the usual supply-then-borrow of stables to leverage liquidity on the @GeistFinance money-market,

...then I swap that borrowed $MIM to $FTM (@UnlDexFinance works best swapping TO $FTM),

...then to $sFTMX on @beethoven_x.

I amble on over to @GranaryFinance and do the same thing: supply $sFTMX to borrow $FTM, leveraging the liquidity via the supply/borrow-loop.

You see I borrow 1050 $FTM, more than the 764 $FTM I need to provision the $UNIDX-LP. Why?

Because I'll hedge my @GranaryFinance position

As the $UNIDX-lps on @EqualizerFlash require wrapped $FTM, I first swap my $FTM on @beethoven_x.

Then I provide liquidity to the pools. Let's do the volatile UNIDX-FTM LP first.

Dear @EqualizerFlash,

Why is my position 0 LP when you very clearly stated my LP was staked?

Please fix so it shows the correct staked LP balance.

Thank you.
love, geophf

Okay, now let's do the stable UNIDX-wFTM LP.

This requires a lot more $FTM than what I anticipated.

After much thought, I say: "No problem!" I just stake what I have, and revert the remaining $UNIDX to @UnlDexFinance,

...

so I have all three kinds now: 2 LPs and $UNIDX HODL.

After the dust settles, my @FantomFDN portfolio is thus.
