BREAKING! We can now show bird's-eye view of clustered Top5s securities

We have previous work clustering then visualizing the entire set of Top5s securities. Now, using the Data-Driven Document framework we have a high-level view of these clustered sets of Top5s securities:

This algorithm maps the top5s clusters to sets of concentric circles. TODO: it will be added to the data-visualization libraries.

FB looks super-appetizing (along with F, again! Go, F; go!) But the in-depth look shows LNKD a winner today.

Let's analyze LNKD

LNKD SMA

LNKD EMA

LNKD Stochastic Oscillators

Questions. How did LNKD get to be a 17B USD company?

Note that these analysis base on close and not adjusted close; so I got slightly stung on the LNKD analysis. This is a FIXME here!

Today, $MSFT did great, but let's look at an almost below-the-radar company $DRYS
geophf:writing geophf$ analyze DRYS
analyze: Ratio has zero denominator
Nope. No can do (not without a code rewrite), but a bit of digging shows this:

DRYS is down – a lot – yesterday, but what caught my eye is FOEAF, a $100M+ company. So it won't be seen on the Top5s (which limits itself to $1B+-companies), but here is an example of a company of interest on the top 5s showing interesting movements in related companies below the radar.

Let's get that 'related companies'-scraper working, geophf!

Let's analyze $MSFT

TODO: Collect Libraries, Write Paper on Clustering and Graphing Heterogenous Data

You have this:

You need a better representation, like this

Which means you need to collect those data then scale them. Then you can look at clustering

to get something like this.

TODO: Collect these libraries here. Write this paper.

  • CSV-printer for Order data-type. Perhaps from $AAPL's December case-study?
  • Data analytics:
    • Security has X associations for today and yesterday
    • Security has been mentioned X times before in the Top 5s list in the last Y months
  • Write $NFLX case-study
  • Finish $AAPL case-study white paper.
