My @SumoKuji vault report, 2024-05-14

Hi, all! I hope y'all's're doing okay! 🥺

I'M IN HAZLETON LIKE A MADMAN! 😤

An $AQLA buy catch-all order hit on @TeamKujira FIN. I claim that $AQLA which will trigger a Sumo vault report.

Hey: when the markets're down, I get to WORK! 😤

I SNED! my claimed $AQLA to my Sumo Vault addy

Avalanche portfolio 2024-04-13

Let's do the @avax-THANG!

The QI/AVAX-EMA20 says BUY, but where am I going to get the $AVAX to swap to $QI?

That's where catch-all orders on @TeamKujira FIN step into the rescue! It's 1ish $AVAX. That'll do.

I claim the $AVAX on FIN.

However, as the bridging fee is 0.1 $AVAX (10%, that is), I instead place an $AVAX sell-order on @TeamKujira which will gain me 20%, which is a net-30% arb on $MNTA.

So, therefore, I borrow 2 $AVAX from @BenqiFinance then swap to $QI using Trader Joe, as @KyberNetwork is not working on @avax for me.

Anybody else having problems getting @KyberNetwork connected on @avax? It refuses my connection request and only allows @arbitrum.

My Sumo vault report, 2024-02-22

I picked up some $WINK and $ASTRO on their dips on @TeamKujira FIN. I claim those filled-orders.

Time to a Sumo Vault report, then!

Before I send these tokens to my Sumo addy, I rebid the filled catch-all orders, because these limit catch-all orders have been really working well for me: buying at low-lows and selling at high-highs!

... then I send the $ASTRO and $WINK over to my Sumo vault addy.

So, do the report?

Welllllll, ...

First I have a question for all's y'all's: anybody doing anything interesting with $ampKUJI?

The @unstake_fi-approach is (very) unprofitable, and the volume on the $KUJI LSD-boards on @TeamKujira FIN is near zero.

Infinite KUJI Well

I'm thinking infinite well.

However, there are 2 considerations to an infinite well:

  1. How much you get from a burn verses
  2. How much your assets are worth if you keep the LSD.

If I burn 44.955 $KUJI (swapped to 43.35 $ampKUJI), I get 45.21 $KUJI in 14 days. GREAT!

But that 43.35 $ampKUJI would be worth 45.06 for a net gain (burn vs HODL LSD) of 0.15 $KUJI.

For a 45 $KUJI investment, that's 8% APR.

Can I do better? HELLz YA!

Because the ampKUJI/KUJI @TeamKujira FIN order book spread is so tight, I need a lot of $KUJI to make a little.

Except my 'I can do better than that' entail risks that I'm unwilling to take with the Sumo Vault. The point of the Sumo Vault is to HODL, not trade KUJI -> ATOM -> KUJI for a 10% gain on the upside, but if either goes asymptotic, I have a problem.

Other portfolios have problems

So, after all that, I leave well-enough alone for now.

Report-time.

My @SumoKuji vault report, 2024-01-22

A $NSTK buy catch-all order hit on @TeamKujira FIN.

I claim the $NSTK, replace the catch-all orders, then send the $NSTK to my vault addy.

I suppose that means it's time for a @SumoKuji vault report, yes?

Okay, to business! The first thing I do is to reclaim my $FUZN from @Fuzion_App, then swap them to $qcFUZN on @Quark_Protocol.

n.b.: Fees are 0.25 $KUJI to mint $qcFUZN on @Quark_Protocol. That's pretty high for a transaction-fee!

Next I mint 24 $USK on BLUE against $LUNA (at 1% APR) to repay $USK borrowed against $KUJI (at 20% APR).

I then place all my $KUJI (except reserves) on a buy-order on @TeamKujira FIN for $qcKUJI at 1.00551-per, which is a better price than @Quark_Protocol's 1.01374-per.

My intent here is to arb KUJI on this board. Let's see how this goes.

Limit catch-all orders: Q&A

This is a Q&A session with Micah 🥶 concerning my limit catch-all orders article:

Micah 🥶: Is the difference between these "catch-all"s and a stink bid simply that you're looking for markets with low liquidity that you know will produce these wicks? How are you even sensing market conditions are right to place such bids? What's your hit-rate?

  1. Nah. I have catch-all orders all over the FIN marketplace, or, more specifically: on the order books that have tokens I care about. Low-liquidity order books do have some amazing spikes, but if those spikes are with a token I dislike/don't see a future in, I shy away.
  2. The catch-alls are 'anti-market-conditions'-based. I 'fire-and-forget.' That is: I place a catch-all, then go on with my life.

I don't base my investment strategy around catch-alls. If a catch-all hits, great! If not, I can wait. So a catch-all is a tactic, not a strategy.

  3. I do, in the end, care about catch-all hit rates, so I monitor the order books, and focus more on placing catch-alls where I've seen craziness before.

Most of the time, I place catch-alls, then simply wait a week, a month, a half-year. Even then, the returns are fantabulous.

Now, 'sink-bids' vs. catch-alls.

There are sell catch-alls, as well, and sometimes I have more success with those than on the buy-side. So a sink-bid may focus only on the dips (?), but catch-alls cover both rock-bottoms and sky-highs.

Tour: Levana

Hey, ho, all! It's a lovely 55°F / 13°C here in September-y VIRGINIA! 😤

A catch-all buy-order hit on @TeamKujira FIN for $OSMO on a down-spike!

I COULD take 10% profit on @osmosiszone (not @Shade_Protocol, as the swap is unfavorable), ...

Or, I COULD trade it for $ATOM at a ratio of 16 $OSMO per $ATOM, at these prices that's [computes]: $5.54-per-ATOM.

A fine price, but look at the history.

I would buy 1.6 $ATOM, ...

... then wait 3 centuries to buy the remaining 8.5 $ATOM.

Ugh.

I mean, ... it is a play?

Or, I COULD lease an asset, say $wBTC, on @NolusProtocol, with $OSMO.

But that assumes:

  • $OSMO retains its value or goes up in price or
  • $wBTC goes down in value.

I'm not willing to take either bet at present, ... because I'm not stupid.

Narrator: You're not?
me: 😤

... and I could be totally wrong on this "Don't lease $BTC with $OSMO"-call. It could be that I want $OSMO to go down and $BTC to go up on a lease-play, idk.

I'm just too new to this leasing-thing. I'm not (yet) willing to explore plays other than $USDC collateral.

At any rate, I have $55-worth of $OSMO from a 50 $USK catch-all, which is even better, as axlUSDC/USK is now > 1. YUS!

So, let's short $OSMO on @Levana_protocol.

A tour.

I bridge my claimed $OSMO to @osmosiszone (where @Levana_protocol) then set the short at 3x.

Straight-away, the transaction fails to commit.

@Levana_protocol is an interesting take on perpetuals. You long- or short- positions using the same token as collateral! 😱 Now, this isn't new for perpetuals, but it's new for me.

But there's another interesting twist here.

The twist is this: most perpetual exchanges ('PEX'???) have insurance to cover their positions. @Levana_protocol doesn't need it. Why?

You're required to select a 'take profit' value, that comes set in ranges that @Levana_protocol can cover with EXISTING FUNDING!

So, after I 'jiggle' the 'Take Profit'-slider, I get a green value there and the transaction completes.

I don't like that. @Levana_protocol should adjust that automatically to a safe-zone, particularly for first-timers, comme moiself. Failing a transaction is bad Juju. #BadJuju

Here's another thing I don't like. On the dashboard, I can't see the vitals my positions at a glance, they're hidden by a slider, or I have to click-thru.

"NBD," sez you.

Sez I: Oh? When the market skies or tanks, you don't have time to click-thru every one of your positions.

Here's the third thing I don't like:

The SECOND I placed my $OSMO 3x short, the price feed went absolutely haywire, slamming up the price to 46¢-per THREE TIMES IN A ROW!

This is WAY above liquidation price. What? I set a short, and I can be insta-liquidated by the price feed?

Now, if I believed $OSMO retains value well, I would set up a δneutral position by placing $OSMO into the stability pool on the 'Earn'-page, funding the protocol as well.

BTW, confusingly: "OSMO / USD" IS NOT an LP pair! It's a single-stake $OSMO-only pool of liquidity.

However, I believe the opposite. I have seen $OSMO lose a tremendous amount of value over the past two years, and all I hear is talk-talk, and all I see is 📉.

For now, anyway.

I'm shorting $OSMO like a fomo mofo. If price spikes, I lose $50. If it stays flat, I make fees.

But what happens as the price of $OSMO (continues to fall)?

Here's what @Levana_protocol does: as the price falls, THEY ADJUST THE COLLATERAL UP TO COMPENSATE! 😱

On a 3x-short, I profit 3¢-per each 1¢ $OSMO's price falls.

My SPREADSHEETSZORXEN tells me 31¢-per is a 10% gain.

So, do I cash-out at 31¢-per $OSMO?

That's one option, ...

geddit? 'option'? on a perpetual? GEDDIT?

Narrator: we get it, okay? 🙄

Another, ... [dare I say?] ... option, is to keep the short, continue to collect fees, and ride that gravy train to, in this case, 17¢-per.

So, this is my introduction to @Levana_protocol to myself. After I get the feel of this short, I'll explore how to set up an, e.g.: $BTC or $ETH δneutral position on this protocol.

k, fam, 143 means 'I love you!'
